In addition to maintaining affiliations with Jackson Hospital and operating a private practice in Marianna, Florida, otolaryngologist Dr. Angelo Consiglio serves as the Southwest Florida representative for Golden Heart Senior Care. A skilled ear, nose, and throat specialist, Angelo Consiglio, MD has experience with a range of ENT treatments and procedures, including balloon sinuplasty.

Approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2005, balloon sinuplasty (BSP) is a relatively new procedure for treating sinusitis, which can cause a range of symptoms, including facial pain, sinus congestion, headache, and fatigue. While other sinusitis treatments involve the surgical removal of bone and tissue, BSP is much less invasive and uses a small balloon catheter to reopen the blocked sinus passageway.

Physicians can often perform BSP in-office under local anesthesia, and most patients can return to their normal activities within two days. To date, over 380,000 patients with sinusitis have undergone BSP, and studies have shown that the procedure often provides long-term relief for sinusitis symptoms in patients who have had little success with medications and other treatments.
